Sending off a barrier breaking show with beloved characters that resonated with fans so deeply was no easy feat. However, it was important to me to give the fans the ending they deserved. blackish was not only a safe space for fans rooted in humor and fun, but it also served as an opportunity for audiences to learn. Real life moments, witty sense of humor, and inclusion of its audience was why consumers of this show celebrated it for so long.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” This theme stuck close to me, and the messaging behind the quote is what I envisioned for our send off campaign. It was significant to close the chapter, signaling to the end of an era, while still celebrating the memories we will cherish forever. Our team successfully intrigued the audience to tune in, bringing the fun and humorous voice of the show to life as the final farewell to the last season. We also highlighted our notable guest stars such as Michelle Obama, Dwight Howard, Vivica A. Fox, and Simone Biles.
